The project involves the modernisation and major electromechanical rehabilitation of the Vorotan Hydro Cascade, a series of three hydroelectric power plants – Spandaryan (76 MW), Shamb (171 MW) and Tatev (157.2 MW) – on the Vorotan river and the associated reservoirs of Spandaryan, Angeghakot, Tolors and Shamb, as well as a daily regulation reservoir – in southern Armenia.
