Trimble and Volvo CE announced today an integration agreement focusing on establishing a Trimble 3D machine control solution that will seamlessly integrate with Volvo Dig Assist 2D machine control on Volvo excavators. The announcement was made at bauma 2016, the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment.

Integrating the Trimble 3D machine control solution on Volvo Excavators will complement the Volvo Dig Assist capability to enable the use of 3D constructible models, as-built data and other Trimble® Connected Site® technologies. "The solution that we are developing will provide our customers a world class combination of Volvo premium machine technology and Trimble Connected Site technologies that include geometric site data,” said Niels Haverkorn, vice president of Business Platform Solutions.

“We are very pleased to work with Volvo on a machine control solution integrating the best of what both companies have to offer,” said Bryn Fosburgh, vice president at Trimble. “Contractors are seeking new ways to improve competitiveness, efficiency and productivity. Tightly integrating Trimble solutions with Volvo allows our mutual customers to more easily leverage construction technology in their business.”
