The project involves the construction of a 300 000 t/y VAM plant, bringing production of an important raw material back to the UK.

The plant will use proprietary fixed-bed technology.

VAM is a key component in a wide range of important high-end products, including lami­nated windscreens, toughened glass, adhesives, coatings, films, textiles and carbon fibre.

The project forms part of a £1-billion investment by INEOS in the UK in multiple projects designed to ensure that its British assets stay world class for a generation.
