Project Description
The 80 MW carrier-neutral campus will comprise three facilities across 12 ha, with 60 000 m2 of data centre space.

The first two-storey facility (JNB1) offers 16 MW of critical information technology (IT) load across 12 000 m2, with a 3.2 kW/M2 average density.

The other two two-storey data centres will offer 32 MW each of critical IT load and 24 000 m2.

Potential Job Creation
The project will create hundreds of jobs.

Capital Expenditure
The project has a planned investment of more than $1-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
Construction started in October 2021.

Phase 1 is slated for completion in mid-2022.

Latest Developments
Vantage Data Centers entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement with solar energy financier SolarAfrica in June 2022.

This agreement will enable Vantage to supplement the local grid that powers the company’s JNB data centre campus with renewable energy.
