Project Description
The core function of the scheme is the distribution of purified bulk water for mining, industrial and domestic use, and will provide a sustainable water supply to 2040.
The project includes the upgrade of the water scheme, which comprises a raw water pumpstation, purification works, six booster pumpstations, several reservoir facilities and a pipeline network of about 470 km.
Value
The estimated cost is R18-billion.
Phase 1 is estimated at R1-billion.
Duration
Phase 1 of the project was scheduled to start in June.
