PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Tritton copper project, in New South Wales, has beaten production expectations for the 2020 financial year, ASX-listed Aeris Resources said on Thursday.

The company noted that production for the full year reached 25 041 t, which was some 2% above the guidance of between 23 500 t and 24 500 t.

“This is a fantastic result, particularly when one considers that the Tritton copper operations were materially impacted by water availability and water quality issues during the summer months,” said Aeris executive chairperson Andre Labuschagne.

“The 2021 financial year is shaping up to be an exciting year for the company. Along with Tritton, we now have ownership of the Cracow gold operation, the demand fundamentals of our primary commodities, copper and gold, are looking strong, and we have exciting brownfields and greenfields exploration opportunities at both our operations,” he added.

Aeris earlier this week completed the acquisition of the Cracow gold mine from gold miner Evolution Mining, in a deal valued at A$125-million.

For 2021, Aeris has set a production target of between 23 500 t and 24 500 t of copper at Tritton, and between 70 000 oz and 75 000 oz of gold at Cracow.
