Designed to meet the growing demand for compact, high-precision position sensing in hydraulic systems, the LZ-19 Series linear variable inductance transducer (LVIT) position sensors have been announced by industrial measurement and control equipment manufacturer Alliance Sensors Group.

The LZ-19 Series delivers a “superior” stroke-to-length ratio, making it ideal for space-constrained automation machinery, hydraulic cylinders and motion control systems.

Alliance Sensors Group says that, with an overall length of 38 mm longer than the measurement stroke, these sensors enable engineers and original equipment manufacturer designers to integrate high-performance linear feedback devices into tight mechanical assemblies.

Further engineered for external mounting on hydraulic cylinders, the LZ-19 Series provides accurate, reliable rod position feedback for mobile hydraulics, industrial fluid power systems and heavy equipment applications.

Moreover, a through-bore design allows the sensing rod to pass completely through the sensor body, eliminating the risk of damage from overstroke conditions.

The LZ-19 Series’ contactless position sensing eliminates wear from continuous cycling for factory automation, robotics and assembly equipment.

This makes the LZ-19 Series well-suited for high-speed automation systems, packaging equipment and materials handling systems, as well as precision assembly machinery and motion control applications.

Alliance Sensors Group adds that equipment manufacturers benefit from the LZ-19 Series’ compact cylindrical design, its integrated electronics with direct current input and output, and simplified installation through a 1 m radial cable.

The LZ-19 Series further supports measurement ranges from 2.5 mm to 750 mm, enabling use across a spectrum of industrial position measurement applications.

Moreover, with the SenSet field-adjustable range scaling, engineers will be able to quickly adapt sensor output to match specific system requirements, reducing setup time and improving flexibility.
