Alkane has approved the development of the underground mining operations at Tomingley.

The project has total resources of 1.24-million tonnes grading 2.7 g/t gold for a resultant contained 108 000 oz of gold, and aims to produce 93 000 oz of gold over a 40-month period.

Latest Developments
The Tomingley gold operation has exceeded production expectations for the 2022 financial year, ASX-listed Alkane Resources has reported.

Gold production reached 66 804 oz during the full year ending June, which was above the guidance of between 55 000 oz and 60 000 oz.

The strong 12-month performance was underpinned by above-forecast mined grade from several areas, as well as great flexibility to overcome the impact of weather and Covid-19, Alkane Resources MD Nic Earner has said.

Approvals are in progress to extend the life of Tomingley to at least 2031.
