Project Description
Timimoun is a nonconventional gas project covering 2 500 km2, with eight different plays located in the centre of Algeria.
The project is expected to include:
• 40 wells to tap the eight structures over an area of 2 500 km2;
• a gas gathering system;
• central gas-processing facilities; and
• a connection to the export pipeline.
At plateau production, Timimoun is designed to produce 1.6-billion cubic metres a year of natural gas over eight years.

The project will cost an estimated $1.5-billion to develop.

The project aims to start gas production in 2016.
Latest Developments
Samsung Engineering has signed the Algeria Timimoun field development project, worth $800-million, with GTIM.
Samsung will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction and precommissioning on a lump-sum-turnkey basis of a 180 km pipeline and a central processing facility, with a capacity of 177-million standard cubic feet a day on a lump-sum turnkey basis. The project is expected to be completed in 2017.
