The iSober Breathalyser App & Cloud Service is a cutting-edge connected breathalyser testing management tool that integrates secure breath test data capturing, sharing, tracking, analysis and storage. This solution is the first of its kind in South Africa designed & developed locally by Alcohol Breathalysers Pty Ltd to enable businesses to remotely carry out and monitor employee alcohol testing. With accurate data points that help safeguard fleet & business operations, iSober is perfect for all kinds of establishments including small-businesses, bus, truck, fleet and freight businesses; and any other operation where staff are required to operate in accordance with zero-tolerance of alcohol policies.

The iSober solution consists of a digital handheld breathalyser being either the Alcoscan AL8800BT, Alcoscan ALP1 BT or iSoberS Pro BLE and the iSober app that includes geotagging features available for mobile operating systems iOS, Android & Huawei and a secure cloud-based data storage system. The data points provided by this platform allow Ops & Fleet Managers as well as Human Resources officers to determine employee behaviour patterns in relation to alcohol consumption prior to or on the job, informing decisions around health and safety.

How does it work?

The handheld digital breathalyser is connected to the app using Bluetooth. The app gives prompts on the use of the breathalyser, with clear instruction on when to blow and for how long, while facing the front camera of the employee’s smartphone. The app will take a photo of the employee blowing, record the precise breathalyser reading, the date, exact time and the GPS location together with unit serial number – all these data points are defaults that cannot be changed and are watermarked to the image captured. The data is automatically stored in the cloud and can be accessed via the App or in the case of the Enterprise Edition by simply signing into the iSober dashboard on isober.co.za. The breath alcohol test session and the accompanying data can be shared with managers or supervisors via SMS, WhatsApp or email. Alerts can also be either be automated in the Enterprise Edition.

How does iSober differ from other breathalyser solutions?

iSober goes the extra mile to give employers and business owners ease in day-to-day capturing, sharing and tracking of breathalyser testing data. The connected nature of the solution enables management to monitor teams that work remotely, such as truck drivers on routes or staff in separate branches or factories. In these instances, the employees or drivers can be prompted to test themselves at random intervals or be required to conduct compulsory tests at predefined intervals during a trip or day. Test results are matched with photographic identity, time, date and location, device serial number, immediately for viewing either via the App on the Fleet or Ops Manager’s phone or via the Enterprise Dashboard.

Through iSober, managers have real-time over-sight and the test data is made available in real-time and can be analyzed to help the business make informed decisions. The data is stored securely in the cloud, available for use as substantive evidence in the case of disciplinary action.

The iSober App and Cloud is available on both free and paid subscriptions, developed and supported by Alchohol Breathalysers Pty Ltd, with over 16 years of experience in supplying and calibrating breathalysers for personal, private, law-enforcement, business & industrial use.
