The 7th Annual Powering Africa: the Finance Options Meeting will take place from the 14-15th November 2013 at the Vineyard Hotel & Spa, Cape Town.
The meeting, held under Chatham House rule, is designed as an executive dialogue where senior-level investors and financiers from Africa’s power sector can meet with the governments, utilities and regulators across Africa to discuss in confidence all aspects of African project finance, from the financing and sustainability of renewables projects to how to select bankable IPP projects and contracts.
Karen Breytenbach, Senior Project Advisor for the National Treasury’s PPP Unit in South Africa, will be joined by senior representatives from Kenya Electricity Generating Company, JP Morgan Asset Management, Eskom, China-Africa Development Fund, Schneider Electric, Globeleq, Webber Wentzel, Odebrecht, Aggreko, Cennergi and Wind Prospect Africa among others this November.
With the outcomes of the third round of REIPPP bids due to be announced just before the meeting in October, Programme Development Manager Shiddika Mohamed is optimistic about the possible discussions which may ensue: “Cape Town is a great location to hold an event such as PA:FO given South Africa’s recent power sector developments.
At this investment-ledeeting, delegates will be provided with the opportunity to influnce where funding will come from and discover how to become part of the investment boom”.
