Telkom and Oger Telecom have mutually agreed to terminate talks regarding the buyout of South Africa’s third-largest telecommunications operator Cell C.

Earlier this month, Telkom said it was performing due diligence on Cell C and was looking at a potential transaction.

Cell C’s parent Oger Telecom earlier said it was mulling the possible sale of its 75% stake in Cell C.

Telkom did not provide reasons for ending talks with Oger.
