Talbert’s 35-Ton Traveling Axle Trailer Features Corsol® WB
This article has been supplied.
Talbert Manufacturing has manufactured its first trailer with Corsol® WB Corrosion Protection, a complete metal treatment system that protects the steel from the corrosive effects of magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium chloride, rock chipping, acid rain and extreme temperatures. The Corsol WB system is made by corrosion solutions manufacturer PRP Industries. The process is used as an alternative to hot dipped galvanizing due to exceptional performance, lower weight and cost. The result is a satin black finish that prevents corrosion from degrading the metal components. Corsol WB is a time-tested, field-proven system that is especially beneficial for use on structural steel that requires high corrosion and chip resistance.
Corsol WB is ideal for haulers who transport through snow melting agents in the Midwest or salty conditions along the coastal regions, where the chemicals have become increasingly corrosive and damaging to trailers. It has been shown that components coated with Corsol and used in those regions have reached 15 years of age with little or no deterioration.
In addition to the available corrosion protection, Talbert’s 3553TA features a six-degree load angle for the towing and recovery industry, as well as rental equipment and construction equipment with low ground clearances. It has a 38-inch loaded deck height
Talbert Adds Corsol Protection for First Time and is equipped with a 20,000-pound planetary winch. The winch is operated with a six-function wireless remote, which allows one person to load a piece of equipment without leaving the tractor. The wireless remote controls the axles, winch and deck. Talbert’s 3553TA also comprises a T-1 and 80K steel beam constructed framework and 4-inch I-beam cross members on 9-inch centers that provide a stronger framework for more concentrated loads, such as rollers and pavers. The trailer is rated for 70,000 pounds evenly distributed or 50,000 pounds in 10 feet.
Other standard features include 1-1/2-inch apitong flooring, as well as side and center tie-downs. Apitong is a tightly woven, highly dense wood that provides a longer wear life because it is less susceptible to chipping or cracking than other deck materials. Side and center tie-down slots make it easier to secure more types of loads.
Talbert has been building world-class heavy-haul and specialized trailers to rigorous customer specifications since 1938. The company offers complete lines of heavy haul trailers and specialized transportation equipment for the commercial, industrial, military and government sectors. Its trailers and equipment are used in applications as diverse as renewable energy, aerospace, heavy construction, in-plant material handling, manufacturing and processing systems and much more.
