Name and Location
Synthetic natural gas (SNG) plant project, South Korea.

Client
POSCO Green Gas Tech, a subsidiary of POSCO.

Project Description
The SNG plant will have a production capacity of 500 000 t/y.

SNG is produced by converting low-cost coal into gas at high temperature and pressure, which is then refined and subjected to a synthesis process. The gas can be a direct substitute for liquid natural gas, as both have the same components.
POSCO plans to install an enclosed silo for coal storage and advanced refinement facilities to run the plant in an environment-friendly fashion, with pollutants kept to a minimum.
