Aim-listed Sylvania Platinum has bought back almost 200 000 of its own ordinary shares during August.

This represents about 0.07% of the company’s issued share capital.

The company earlier this year launched a share buyback programme to acquire up to 1.6-million ordinary shares from all certificated non-UK shareholders – who hold 175 000 shares or fewer in the company.

To date, the company has bought a total 878 905 ordinary shares under the programme.

Following August’s transaction, the company's issued share capital amounts to 287-million ordinary shares, of which 15.2-million ordinary shares are held in treasury.

Therefore, the total number of ordinary shares with voting rights in Sylvania is 272-million ordinary shares.
