Strengthening data management solutions
Making an informed decision in the minerals discovery process requires access to reliable information and secure data management, with modern visualisation and workflow sequencing. These are among the key features of a new geological data management software release.
Mining software solutions provider, MICROMINE, has made a number of additions and modifications to its software product, Geobank 2020, which aims to add value to geologists and mining engineers by making data management simpler and more efficient.
Designed in collaboration with clients and users, the enhancements to the software provide users with a platform to interact with their geological data using intuitive interfaces and customisable forms.
One of the key updated features of the software is the new form designer, which promises to streamline and facilitate business processes and, in turn, increase data management accuracy and efficiency.
The company states that is aims to enable the configuration of its tools to facilitate clients’ processes, rather than clients having to change processes to fit the tools. In addition, the improved Geobank 2020 licence manager gives users access to licence borrowing, activation and transfer functions.
The software has been configured in order to allow for the seamless operation of both new and older versions. An independent management tool is in place to ensure the different versions do not interfere with one another. The latest release also enables data sharing between all of the most commonly used industry file types.
Integration is also seen as an important consideration, taking into account that geologists may often use multiple software solutions and products. Geobank 2020 makes it possible to pass data parameters to third-party applications in a ready-to-work state. A connector has also been included so Geobank 2020 offers full .dat Unicode support.
According to MICROMINE, its updated software offers a dynamic, efficient and scalable solution that will help companies better record, access, review, integrate and utilise geological data.
