Steyn City  (0.05 MB)

The developers of Steyn City, a visionary residential and lifestyle estate under construction along the Jukskei River in Johannesburg, are pumping funds into improving surrounding infrastructure, including the building of a new water reservoir on the north-east portion of the estate. It will store up to 30 megalitres and is part of council’s and Johannesburg Water’s master planning and regional infrastructure upgrade for
the region.

Steyn City has provided the land, which was the highest elevation point in this location, and was necessary for the provision of adequate water pressure. The developers also built the R35 million reservoir, which will supply 35% of their own estate, while the remainder will supply Dainfern, Dainfern Valley, Dainfern Ridge and parts of Diepsloot, providing a continuous supply of mains water and reducing the risk of water shortages.

The new reservoir is expected to solve the water pressure problem frequently experienced by local residents during peak periods, as well as assist council in reaching its target to provide more households with access to tap water.
