Project Description
The Southern Precinct project, a proposed investment programme by Melbourne Airport, will be completed in stages over the next five years.

The first stage of the programme includes the development of a new domestic terminal facility, 17 new aircraft parking bays, dedicated ground-transport facilities and improvements to the airport’s road network.

The new terminal will be built on 20 000 m2 of land, between the existing Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 buildings and will have the capacity to cater to ten-million passengers a year.

Future phases under Stage 1 will include an expanded terminal to 35 000 m2, catering for 20-million passengers.

A$1-billion.

Duration
The first stage of the programme is expected to be completed in mid-2015.

The Federal government approved the programme in April this year.
