Project Description
The project entails the development of a plant for silica production on 100 000 m2 in the Sinai penninsula, which is rich in raw material silica glass sand.
The plant will have an expected production capacity of 41 000 t of silica sediments and 30 000 t of sodium sulphate in the first stage.
In subsequent stages, production will increase to about 150 000 t of silica sediments and 120 000 t of sodium sulphate to meet the needs of the domestic and international market.

The company plans to start production by the beginning of 2016.
Latest Developments
RP-Sanjiv has filed the technical and financial studies for the project and is awaiting approvals from the Egyptian Industrial Development Authority.
It is also awaiting approvals from the General Authority for Investment to begin the process for company incorporation, and the Ministry of Housing to get industrial land allocation for the project.
Construction of the project will start once the approvals are granted and the Ministry of Petroleum and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company agree to provide the natural gas required for the operation.
