Project Description
The project includes the construction of a new terminal, runway and control tower within the confines of the Sharm El-Sheikh airport.
The airport is expected to provide an additional capacity for ten-million passengers a year, bringing the airport’s total passenger capacity to 18-million a year, and operations capacity to 68 operations an hour.

The project is estimated at $671-million.

The project is expected to be implemented in 44 months.
Latest Developments
The African Development Bank (AfDB) approved a $140-million loan to the Sharm El-Sheikh development project on April 15.
The bank’s contribution to the project represents 21% of the total estimated development cost of the project.
