Project Description
The plan is to build a manganese processing plant with a capacity of 56 250 t/y of medium carbon ferromanganese and 9 600 t/y of silicomanganese.

Mining will be undertaken across a wide area, stretching from central to northern Zambia because the company has not yet identified massive manganese deposits in a localised area to feed the smelter.

$60-million.

Duration
The processing plant is expected to start production by 2014.

Latest Developments
The company hoped to appoint a contracting party that would handle the bankable feasibility study (BFS) in the first week of December 2012. Work to be completed as part of the BFS includes resource estimation and drilling, mining, haulage and pyrometallurgical studies, environmental, permitting and social studies, economics and optimal financing strategies.
