PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Senex Energy has achieved its initial production plateau during the quarter ended June, with an annualised run rate of around 19 PJ/y.

The company on Tuesday reported that production during the June quarter reached 4.7 PJ, which was in line with the 4.6 PJ produced in the previous quarter, while sales volumes were slightly lower at 4.7 PJ, compared with the 4.8 PJ sold in the March quarter.

Sales revenue for the quarter was down 2%, to A$32.5-million.

“Production and sales performance in our natural gas portfolio continues to deliver strong and stable cashflow, a strong balance sheet and exposure to rising oil prices and a tightening east coast gas market,” said Senex Energy MD and CEO Ian Davies.

“We are quickly progressing the development of our significant Surat basin natural gas reserves to deliver our targeted five-fold growth in annual production to more than 60 PJ/y by the end of 2025.

“Our near-term growth projects are proceeding well, with Roma North on track to deliver an expansion to 9 PJ/y in the first quarter of 2022. Further production expansion of an additional 18 PJ/y at Roma North and Atlas combined progressed through front-end engineering and design during the quarter,” said Davies.

Following the completion of the expansions, Senex Energy’s production portfolio would reach around 36 PJ/y.
