The project is a joint venture between the City of Cape Town, ASKA, Garden Cities and Milnerton Estates.

Project Description
The Sandown road extension will open traffic to the M12 and N7 highways.

It involves the construction of the 2.3 km single carriage road, linking Gie road to the M12, which feeds into the N7.

This incorporates a 7.5-m-high road-over-rail bridge structure. Lighting and landscaping will also be installed.

Value
R64-million.

Duration
Construction started in September 2012 and will be completed by the end of August.

Latest Developments
Brink & Heath Civils hosted a ‘bridge wet’ ceremony on July 22 on the newly completed bridge deck.
