Name of the Project
San Jose lithium hydroxide project.

Location
The project is located in the Extremadura region of western Spain.

Project Owner/s
Infinity-Lithium holds an equal 50% interest in the project with its partner Valoriza Mineria, and has an agreement to increase its share to 75% through the completion of a feasibility study on the deposit.

Project Description
San Jose has indicated and inferred resources of 111.3-million tonnes grading 0.28% lithium, 0.61% lithium oxide and 226 parts per million of tin.

The results of a scoping study have confirmed that the project has the potential to become a leading producer of lithium hydroxide, as well as carbonate, in Europe for the burgeoning lithium-ion battery and cathode industry.

Infinity proposes to develop a lithium hydroxide operation by treating lithium micas at San Jose using sulphate roasting and crystallisation on site.

Mining is expected to be undertaken using conventional drilling and blasting, truck-and-shovel openpit mining.

Over the life of the mine, production will average 14 338 t/y of lithium hydroxide.

Infinity had previously completed a scoping study on a lithium carbonate project, which demonstrated the potential for a robust lithium chemicals development project.

Potential Job Creation
Not stated.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The project has a pretax net present value, at a 10% discount rate, of $717.2-million and an internal rate of return of 50.9% using a long-term average basket price of $14 896/t of lithium hydroxide. The project has a payback of 2.3 years from the start of production.

Capital Expenditure
Start-up capital expenditure, including a 10% contingency, is estimated $288.3-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Not stated.

Latest Developments
Infinity Lithium has reported that support for its San Jose project is emerging from multiple levels, including government and businesses endorsements, as well as wider European-level recognition.

The Extremadura regional government has informed Infinity that the regional Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure will be at the disposal of the San Jose joint venture to collaborate, clarify and accompany it through the administrative procedure of the permitting process.

San Jose has also received public endorsement from various Spanish business associations and the European Battery Association, the European Commission and European Investment Bank.

Key Contracts and Suppliers
Snowden Mining Consultants, Cube Consulting, Wave International, Knight Piésold, IMO Project Services, Mining Sense, Valoriza Mineria and AGQ Laboratories (scoping study).

On Budget and on Time?
