Sakarya gasfield development project, Türkiye

Name of the Project
Sakarya gasfield development project.
Location
About 170 km off the coast of Filyos, Zonguldak, Türkiye.
Project Owner/s
Turkish Petroleum Off-Shore Technology Center (TP-OTC), a subsidiary of Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklık (TPAO).
Project Description
Sakarya is being developed in phases, with the project’s ultimate output targeted to increase to 40-million m³/d as additional wells are drilled.
Phase 1, which has been completed, included the engineering, procurement and installation of the subsea production system of ten wells, gas transport and monoethylene glycol pipelines, as well as an umbilical and onshore processing facility.
Phase 2, under way, involves further development of the field with up to an additional 30 wells.
The project includes a floating production unit (FPU) to process the produced gas offshore and deliver it to the grid using another gas transport pipeline.
The third phase of development entails a new dedicated FPU, fed by 27 wells, in the Sakarya and Amasra fields, and connected by a new trunkline to the onshore facility in Filyos, on the Turkish Black Sea coast.
Phase 3 will be connected to the new natural gas reserve recently discovered at the Goktepe field to Sakarya Phase 3 facilities.
The Goktepe field is situated in waters 2 200 m deep and about 80 km from Sakarya Phase 3 field.
The new infrastructure will allow for increased production from the field development.
