Feel the energy, experience the thrill, and Run Wild at South Africa’s oldest, biggest and richest sprint race event, the Golden Horse Sprint Race Day 2014. It’s all happening at Scottsville Racecourse this Saturday, 24 May.

With South Africa’s fastest sprinters competing and prize money of over R2-million, competition will be fierce.

“You will be blown away by exhilarating horseracing, dramatic fashion and pulse-raising entertainment. This is the biggest event on Pietermartizburg’s social calendar. Gates open at 09:30, with the first sprint races commencing at 10:30.There is no cost to enter the Sprint Race Event. Running in tandem to the horse races is the Fashion Design Competition which showcases outrageous designs by emerging and professional designers.

Food, refreshments and entertainment will be available at two Marquee Villages throughout the day. The Marquee Villages are the hospitality and entertainment hub of the race day with DJ’s from Gagasi FM performing as well as internationally acclaimed DJ KANT from Denmark entertaining guests till late into the night. Golden Horse Casino and Gold Circle Racing will offer exclusive links with fashion icons, musical artists and other celebrities at these specially-erected Marquees. Entry tickets for both of these Marquee Villages are available at Computicket and cost R150 for a general entry ticket or R300 for VIP access. Tickets will also be on sale at the doors on the day of the Sprint.

The event culminates with an after party, featuring top SA house band, Micasa, at the Golden Horse Conference Centre. Entrance to the after party is R120 per person and tickets are available at the casino’s Customer Service Desk. Based on Micasa’s overwhelming popularity, pre-booking is advised.
