Latest Developments
The PFS for Kibo’s planned 300 MW power plant at its Rukwa coal-to-power project will start immediately, with the full study to be completed early next month, the company has announced.

Kibo CEO Louis Coetzee says that, following its appointment, engineering and technical services company Aurecon has undertaken a review of historically gathered information, with the comprehensive nature of the data available enabling the firm to commit to the delivery of the PFS next month.

The power plant PFS will cover the conventional PFS elements associated with a power plant feasibility study, while also assessing certain key parameters required for planning the definitive power feasibility study on the Rukwa power plant.

The power PFS is an important milestone for the RCPP as its marks the stage where feasibility work has progressed sufficiently to allow the integrated feasibility study – comprising mining and power aspects – to continue concurrently.
