A ready-to-use robotic welding system offers a compact, flexible and cost-effective solution for the automotive industry.

The ArcWorld system is pre-assembled and pre-programmed through offline three-dimensional computer-aided design models of the jigs and can be placed on wheels to be moved to a desired position, making it highly mobile and immediately ready to be installed and deployed.

The solution-in-a-box model holds several benefits, such as its completely integrated and modular design which allows the systems to work with an existing assembly line. All the required capabilities are inside the box and connected within the cabinet, which means there will be no loss of productivity as it easily slots into the assembly line. Customisation options are also available, allowing the ArcWorld robot systems to be paired with any welding machine brand, says Yaskawa Southern Africa national project manager Sean Low. "We understand most automotive OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) like to retain consistency in brands used, so we will pre-install their desired brand of equipment into our solution."

As factories restructure assembly lines or move premises, they require solutions that can adapt to changing surroundings and floorspace. The ArcWorld system offers a solution that is both mobile and occupies a small footprint. In addition, it aims to ensure that companies are able to maintain strict health and safety requirements and adhere to stringent regulations. Low explains that as a global brand, Yaskawa maintains the highest standards and "the high-quality cabins are built in Europe to EU standards, so they already come equipped with the required European safety features."

Yaskawa also offers training for robot operators, to help companies upskill and train employees to maximise the potential of robots while ensuring safety.
