The project is located 5 km from Singleton, in New South Wales, Australia.

Bloomfield Group.

Project Description
The Rix’s Creek mine is an opencut mine, which has been in continuous operation since 1990. It currently produces 2.8-million tonnes a year. 

Bloomfield is seeking approval to continue operations for another 21 years until 2038, to produce an additional 25-million tonnes of product coal, which will result in the mine slowly moving in a westward direction away from Singleton, which was always intended.

The project will continue to use existing surface infrastructure.

A second cut-and-cover tunnel will be built beneath the New England Highway.
