Riverbed Technology today announced that Gartner has once again positioned Riverbed as a Leader in its 2017 “Magic Quadrant for Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics (NPMD),” marking Riverbed's fourth consecutive year in the Leader position. The entire Gartner report can be viewed here. Riverbed is also named a Leader in Gartner's May 16, 2016 Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimization and a Challenger in Gartner's December 21, 2016 Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring Suites.

“Riverbed is proud that it has been named a Leader for its SteelCentral platform in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for NPMD for the fourth consecutive year. During the last year, we continued to evolve our performance monitoring portfolio, adding end-user experience monitoring through our SteelCentral Aternity product and integrating SteelCentral visibility into our SD-WAN SteelConnect solution,” said Allan Paton, Regional Vice President, UK, at Riverbed Technology.

“Assuring superior end-user experience is a critical business outcome for any company, and Riverbed is excited to be leading the industry and providing customers with a truly integrated digital experience management solution—deep visibility and performance on a truly end-to-end basis, from the end-user’s device, across applications, networks, and into the infrastructure on which business-critical applications run.”

SteelCentral delivers the most complete and integrated end-to-end performance management solution in the marketplace—monitoring end-users, applications, networks and infrastructure wherever they are, on or off the cloud—allowing enterprises to reduce or eliminate fragmentation and dramatically simplify the process for monitoring and managing application performance. With SteelCentral, organizations are better able to proactively detect performance issues that negatively impact end-user experience and rapidly pinpoint the root cause, regardless of where it originates.

Over the past year, in addition to adding SteelCentral Aternity to the portfolio, simplifying the offering and strengthening the integration within SteelCentral and other Riverbed solutions, Riverbed introduced two new SteelCentral products: SteelCentral AppResponse 11, which combines network forensics, application analytics and EUEM in a single solution, and SteelCentral NetIM, a holistic solution for mapping, monitoring and troubleshooting your infrastructure components. It also simplified the troubleshooting of UC-based network and infrastructure issues from within the UC monitoring environment.

With SteelCentral Aternity added to the portfolio, Riverbed now offers the industry’s best end-user experience monitoring, with monitoring down to the actual end-user device such as a laptop or smartphone. Riverbed also recently announced the integration of SteelCentral performance management into SteelConnect Manager for advanced SD-WAN visibility, allowing IT operations managers to make more informed policy and deployment decisions, monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, and plan for network changes.
