Location
Ærfugl is a gas condensate field about 210 km off the shore of Sandnessjøen in Norway. It is connected back to the Skarv floating production, storage and offloading vessel operated by Aker BP.

Project Description
The Ærfugl development is a major subsea project that will be developed in two phases. Both phases are tied into the existing production vessel on the Skarv field.
Phase 1, which develops the southern part of the Ærfugl field, comprises three new wells.
Phase 2 comprises an additional three wells in the northern part of the field. The project holds an estimated 300-million barrels of oil equivalent.

The project is estimated at NKr8-billion.
Planned Start/End Date
Production from Phase 1 is expected in the fourth quarter of 2020.
The goal is to start production from the first Phase 2 well as early as the first half of 2020. This means that production startup for Phase 2 will come before the startup of Ærfugl Phase 1.
Latest Developments
The Ærfugl partners have decided to proceed with Phase 2 of the Ærfugl project in the Norwegian Sea, three years ahead of the original plan.
