Project Owner/s
Engie and Infinium.

Project Description
The Reuze project will use one of the biggest electrolyser systems announced to date in Europe.

The project aims to produce synthetic fuels for use in air and sea transport – two sectors that are difficult to decarbonise.

Electrofuel producer Infinium’s clean fuel technology uses green hydrogen and waste carbon dioxide (CO2) to produce ultralow carbon fuels.

Using this technology, the Reuze project will convert more than 300 000 t/y of harmful CO2 into more than 100 000 t/y of clean-burning electrofuels and naphtha.

Infinium states that these fuels are an instant replacement for traditional jet fuel and diesel, and can be directly used in planes, ships and truck fleets without changes in infrastructure or engine design.

The project will use the carbon emissions from ArcelorMittal’s local steel production activities.
