Project Description
The facility will be one of the world’s first industrial-scale renewable hydrogen production operations.
The first phase of the project will include a 10 MW electrolyser and an on-site facility of photovoltaic panels, as well as a battery storage system that will enable the plant to operate without being connected to the main electrical grid. The project will produce up to 625 t/y of renewable hydrogen and 3 700 t/y of renewable ammonia.

The Australian government is providing a A$42.5-million grant for the project as part of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency Renewable Hydrogen Deployment Funding Round. A number of development conditions must be met and the project needs to achieve financial close before funding is released.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2023.
