DA leader in the Gauteng Legislature Jack Bloom discusses his 'Don't forget the forgotten' campaign, which he started in August 2011, after an informal settlement near his home burnt down.

Moved by the incident, Bloom visited the site and spent the night with the then homeless people. He brought the incident to the attention of the media and sought fundraising to help the people recover.

Since then, Bloom has undertaken to stay one night in each of the most impoverished communities in Gauteng.

Polity.org.za's Motshabi Hoaeane speaks to Bloom about his campaign.
