JSE-listed RCL Foods expects its headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the six months ended December 31, to be 15.6% and 27.3% higher year-on-year at between 69c and 76c.

It reported HEPS of 59.7c for the six months ended December 31, 2020.

Earnings per share (EPS) for the period under review are also expected to be between 13.6% and 25% higher year-on-year at between 70c and 77c.

That compares with EPS of 61.6c reported for the prior comparable period.

RCL attributed the expected improvement to good performances from all divisions.

It is also a function of the base effect of the higher direct costs associated with Covid-19 in the comparative period.

The group’s financial results will be released on February 28.
