A cloud-connected radar aims to provide full transparency in the storage and transport of liquids. The 80 GHz wireless Industrial Internet of Things sensor combines technology and digital services in one device.

The instrument’s continuously recorded measurement data can be accessed remotely at any time, owing to the device's cloud connection, with communication made possible by an integrated SIM card.

An integrated battery allows for operation without an external power supply, an advantage for measuring points that are difficult to access. Installation is said to be quick and easy, enabling a plug-and-play solution that is particularly suited to stackable tanks.

In addition to the measured level, users receive information on the location of storage tanks and containers by means of a cellular communication system. The instrument aims to provide data that will help users optimise logistic and storage processes and save time by providing continuous access to inventory information.

The Endress+Hauser Micropilot FWR30 can be used for level measurement and inventory management of mobile and stationary plastic tanks and also enables the tracking of mobile storage tanks. The free radiating measuring device covers measuring ranges of up to 15 m and temperatures of between -20 °C and 60 °C. As a non-contact measurement instrument, the Micropilot FWR30 can be used in all liquid media. It is resistant to corrosion, abrasion, viscosity or toxicity and can be used in a variety of industries.

A number of digital services are available, including Netilion Value and SupplyCare hosting and digital software applications can be used on devices such as desktops, tablets or smartphones and are said to comply with the highest security and data protection requirements.
