PSG Konsult is changing its name to ‘PSG Financial Services,’ in line with its strategic growth plan

Leading financial services group PSG Konsult is seeking approval to change its name to PSG Financial Services. The proposed change, which is subject to regulatory and shareholder approval, is aligned to the firm’s growth aspirations. “In the 25 years since being established, PSG has evolved as a business and now provides a comprehensive financial services offering,” says CEO Francois Gouws. “We want to ensure our brand remains well-positioned in an ever-evolving industry and that we continue to serve our growing client base optimally and in line with our high standards.”
PSG’s annual results were released earlier this year in April, and the group realised a 5% increase in recurring headline earnings per share and a return on equity of 22.7% for the current year, despite a challenging operational backdrop. Importantly, the business continues to grow its assets under management, despite difficult market conditions and depressed economic growth levels.
The group has experienced more than a decade of sequential growth – a testament to the effectiveness of its advice-led business model and its unyielding commitment to “growing organically, and to fund that growth prudently,” as Gouws explains.
A strong operating philosophy affirmed by industry recognition
The success of PSG’s business model and its focus on quality is reflected in the accolades received across its three divisions (PSG Wealth, PSG Insure and PSG Asset Management).
Most recently, its Asset Management division won the coveted South African Manager of the Year title at this year’s Raging Bull Awards – an accolade that PSG Asset Management CEO, Anet Ahern saw as “an endorsement of its 3M investment philosophy, and its ability to deliver on clients’ needs and objectives in the long run.”
PSG’s Wealth division was recognised as the Top Wealth Manager of the Year: Large Institution at last year’s Intellidex Top Private Banks and Wealth Managers Awards. This marked its fourth consecutive year as winner of this prestigious award. Likewise, PSG Insure has also recently received a series of top insurance industry recognition awards.
For Gouws, the group’s ability to continually generate strong cashflows, maintain high performance in several key financial metrics and deliver consistent value to its shareholders is evidence that PSG has succeeded in building a solid reputation on its long-standing values of personal service, lifelong client relationships, integrity, trust and transparency.
“Our advisers are personally invested in bringing these values to life in their dealings with clients, which are the cornerstones of our advice-led approach. As we continue along this positive trajectory, we aim to establish ourselves not only as the wealth manager of choice but the broader financial services provider for all South Africans.”
