The project involves the construction of 755 MW combined-cycle, natural-gas-fired power plant, enough to power 500 000 homes.
The combined-cycle plant will use state-of-the-art emission control technology.
Jobs to Be Created
The plant will generate about 700 jobs during its two-year construction phase. More than 20 permanent jobs will be created to run the new plant once it becomes operational.
Value
The plant will entail an investment of between $825-million and $875-million.
Duration
The project is scheduled to be operational in 2018.
