Project Description
The proposed propylene oxide and tertiary butyl alcohol plant will be the world’s largest of its type and will be located at LyondellBasell’s existing Channelview and Bayport Choate complexes, in Texas.

The scope includes a one-billion-pound-a-year propylene oxide plant and a two-billion-pound-a-year tertiary butyl alcohol plant at the Channelview site, an ethers plant at the Bayport Choate site, as well as associated infrastructure.

The project forms part of LyondellBasell’s $3-billion to $4-billion expansion plans that are to be undertaken on the US Gulf Coast up to 2020.

LyondellBasell has selected Fluor Corporation to perform front-end engineering and design (Feed) work for its proposed propylene oxide and tertiary butyl alcohol plant. The Feed activities are expected to be completed in 2016.
