Project Description
The Dongguan plant will be one of the largest single-train dehydrogenation units in the world.

The project entails the construction of propane dehydrogenation unit, with a 600 000 t/y homopolymer thermoplastic resin capacity in dual reactor lines. The unit has been optimised to reduce equipment piece-count and lower propane consumption, resulting in low investment and operation costs.

CB&I and Clariant have been awarded a contract by Dongguan Grand Resource Science & Technology for the licence and engineering design of the dehydrogenation unit.

The unit will use catalytic dehydrogenation technology and a tailor-made catalyst to produce the 600 000 t/y of propylene.
