Project Description
The project involves the development of a manufacturing facility that will produce up to 1.4-million tonnes a year of urea from clean hydrogen and natural gas. 

The project will have a 30-year life.

The successful development of Project Haber is contingent on, besides other factors, sufficient gas reserves at South Erregulla; the outcomes of front-end engineering design (FEED); access to finance and, where required, equity participation; securing binding urea offtake agreements; and obtaining all requisite regulatory and stakeholder permits, approvals and authorisations.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to support 1 135 full-time jobs a year during the three-year construction phase and 300 full-time jobs a year over its 30-year life.

Latest Developments
The Australian Federal Government has awarded the project major project status. Projects awarded major project status have access to extra support from the Major Projects Facilitation Agency, including being provided with a single entry point for Australian government approvals, project support and coordination.
