Project description
The biofuel project - dubbed Procana - will include the construction of a factory that will produce 120-million litres of ethanol a year.
The raw material for the ethanol will be sugar cane that will be planted over an area of 30 000 ha in the Massingir district, in the southern province of Gaza. In addition to producing ethanol, the factory will also produce electricity for local use.
Value
Central African Mining and Exploration Company (Camec) is expected to spend $510-million on the project.

The project is expected to be operational by 2010.
