Prestank is a sectional, pressed steel water tank produced by Structa Technology, a member of the Structa group of companies and a Level 1 broad-based black economic-empowerment contributor.

As a leader in water storage solutions, Prestank has manufactured water tanks for more than 40 years.

Found throughout South Africa and the rest of Africa, Prestanks are installed at many bulk water supply schemes such as rural developments and municipal infrastructure projects.

Tanks can also be installed at hospitals, offices, commercial and private sectors – in fact anywhere inhabited by people. Prestank offers back up water supply in case of a failure in municipal supply, a particularly important factor in the health sector, where a 48-hour emergency water supply must be available.

Prestank is also the first choice in water storage and supply for agriculture, mining and light to heavy industries.

Some of the largest projects completed by Prestank include a 4.3 Mℓ tank installed at the Medupi power station and ground level tanks with a capacity of more than 4.5 Mℓ supplied to Bloem Water.

The tanks are produced in the Structa Technology plant in Meyerton, Gauteng. The factory boasts an under-roof area of over 12 000 m2, with comprehensive crane coverage. It is equipped with high-definition plasma cutting technology and a 13 t press for panel production.

In addition, the plant uses automated beam drilling lines to produce tank support structures for elevated tanks.

Structa Technology is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company and takes pride in delivering quality products which conform to internationally equivalent standards.  Tank designs conform to SANS 10329 and supporting structures are designed to SANS 10160 and SANS 10162 requirements. Tank panel galvanising conforms to SANS 121 standards.

The plant employs 65 people and has the capacity to convert about 1 000 t of steel per month.
