Algeria petrochemicals complex.
Project description
The project encompasses the construction of an ethane cracker and three product lines. The cracker will have a capacity of 1,4-million tons a year. The feed gas will come from the southern Algerian fields. The cracker will produce about 1,1-million tons of ethylene a year, which will be processed into 410 000 t of monoethylene glycol, 350 000 t of high-density polyethylene, and 450 000 t of linear low-density polyethylene, mainly for export.

The investment required for the project is estimated at $3-billion.
Duration
The development design will be launched shortly, with the commissioning of the units scheduled in about five years.
