Nullagine sets records for Millennium
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Nullagine gold project, in Western Australia, has set performance records for owner Millennium Minerals during March.
The company said in a statement on Wednesday that the outperformance brought the operations back onto guidance, after February’s output was negatively affected by Cyclone Rusty.
During March, mining operations at Nullagine established a new monthly record for total volume mined and hauled, which reached 220 000 m3, which was 15% above budget.
The processing facility milled some 141 000 t, up 14% on budget, while gold dore poured reached 8 300 oz, with fine gold production estimated at 7 250 oz, a new record for gold output.
The Nullagine project had some 1.36-million ounces in gold resource and 712 800 oz of reserves over seven deposits. The recently commissioned processing plant had a 1.5-million-ton-a-year capacity, and was expected to produce between 78 000 oz and 84 000 oz of gold in 2013.
