Nullagine output undermined - Millennium
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Western Australian gold miner Millennium Minerals has downgraded its production expectations for the full year, from 73 000 oz to between 68 000 oz and 70 000 oz.
The miner explained on Thursday that there had been unexpected delays in obtaining appropriate road use permitting for its Golden Gate deposit, restricting the rate of haulage from the deposit to the Nullagine processing plant.
This has resulted in a delay in the treatment of the higher-grade ore.
As a result, Millennium would mine and process a higher proportion of lower-grade ore from the Golden Eagle deposit, which would result in lower-than-predicted gold production for the last quarter of the calendar year.
Processing of the higher-grade Golden Gate deposit would now likely take place from the first week of January next year, which would result in some of the gold production being reported in the next quarter’s output.
