Project Description
The project involves the development of a 100 MW renewable-energy facility, fuelled by wood-based biomass, working closely with the Port of Blyth.

The project can generate 750 GWh/y of clean, renewable electricity, which is equivalent to the average yearly electricity consumption of about 170 000 average British households.

Value
£250-million.

Duration
Construction is expected to start in 2014 and will last for about two-and-a-half years.

Latest Developments
The British government has granted development consent fro RES’s North Blyth biomass power station. RES is in the process of appointing a contractor to construct the power station. A decision will be announced in November, at the earliest.
