Name of the Project
Nomad and M-Kat solar photovoltaic (PV) project.
Location
Nomad is located close to the village of Zhalagash, in the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan.
M-Kat is adjacent to the village of Shu, in the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan.

Total Eren.
Project Description
Total Eren is building two solar PV plants with a total capacity of 128 MWp.
Nomad will have a 28 MWp capacity, while M-Kat will have a capacity of 100 MWp.
The power plants will be the first to use single-axis trackers in Kazakhstan.
Once completed, Nomad and M-Kat will together generate 225 GWh/y, enough to supply the needs of about 40 000 Kazakh people while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 300 000 t/y.
Potential Job Creation
Up to 580 workers are expected to be employed for the construction phase – up to 400 workers for M-Kat and up to 180 workers for Nomad.
Capital Expenditure
Together the projects are estimated at $157-million.
Planned Start/End Date
The two projects are under construction and should enter operation by the end of 2019.
