Vehicle manufacturer Nissan plans to launch its latest ProPilot Park technology with the new range of Nissan Leaf vehicles in September.

The new Leafs will be the first in the automaker’s global product line-up equipped with ProPilot Park, which helps drivers park by automatically guiding the car into a parking spot.

“Sonars and cameras on the new Nissan Leaf effortlessly guide the car into a parallel, angled, front or straight back-in parking spot, reducing driver stress by handling accelerator, braking and steering input,” the company said in a statement.

The technology is activated by the driver through three steps and the process can be monitored and controlled by the driver, who can apply the brakes if needed.

This technology forms part of Nissan's Intelligent Mobility initiative.
