Project Description
The project involves the development of a 200 000 bl/d greenfield oil refinery and petrochemicals complex, with associated infrastructure, utilities and offsite facilities in the Nghi Son economic zone, in northern Vietnam.

The refinery is designed to process Kuwait export crude. The plant will have the full conversion facilities, with an integrated aromatics complex and polypropylene production.

The complex is to enter commercial operation in 2017.

Latest Developments
Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract for the design and supply of a carbon monoxide (CO) incinerator package for a residue fluidised catalytic cracker at the Nghi Son refinery project.

The contract was awarded by JGC Corporation, which is acting on behalf of the engineering, procurement and construction consortium.

Foster Wheeler will design the incinerator in accordance with the CO emissions requirements of the new complex. The CO incinerator is expected to be shipped free on board as one single module during the second quarter of 2015.

The incinerator will also be designed to help meet the low emissions targets of the new complex.
